Last Saturday we took down the tree and decorations. Does anyone else mourn after doing this? Well I do. I think I may actually do a few DIY Valentines Days decorations just to fill that void... Anyhow, since we were taking down the decorations I decided to dust and clean out the bookshelf too. My pre-holiday's to do list included organizing the shelves separating our dining and living room but I didn't get to it before the holidays.... Yes I get an F on that but I am getting to it now.
It was perfect since we are trying to complete a project every week this month, to help get our townhouse feeling more like our home. We went through and decided on a few books and pictures we could move to other rooms, not to mention make a list of books I am now on the look out for (that may or may not have just been me making that list...). This is what it's looking like now.

Yes lots of work needs to happen. So I then decided I needed to take a break from organizing and hunt down some inspiration... Here is what I found.

Oh Pinterest. How I love you.... Do you ever gather inspiration before decorating? I probably do it for everything from outfits to decorating. Picture of how ours ends up will come later...
Oh and it's Friday and THANK GOODNESS for that. I am off to NYC with my little sis for a few much needed days of brunching, shopping, running in Central Park and some museums. Hoping to find a little something to add to this bookshelf! What do you have planned for the weekend?
I hope whatever you have planned is fabulous.

i do not mourn undoing christmas in my home, instead, I think of it as a pre spring cleanup. everything feels so neat and clean once I remove the stockings, window treatments, and PINE needles everywhere! :) it is a welcome change for me once embarking on the new year.
ReplyDeletecan you please please tell me where you got those gorgeous throw pillows?
That's a fabulous way to think of it!
ReplyDeletethe love one and small black and white ones are from Etsy. The "&" one is from West Elm and the glitter one is from TJMaxx. When I moved in here he already had the brown sectional so I needed to feminize it a little and it makes me smile when I see them. A mix of us both. :)
Happy New Year girl!
